April 27, 2004 (Washington, DC) Spokespersons for the National Horse
Protection Coalition (NHPC), actress Bo Derek and Kentucky Derby winning
trainer, Nick Zito are featured in the NHPC’s new documentary on the American
Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. The ten-minute video is narrated by Bo
Derek and illustrates the graphic facts
about horse slaughter, humane alternatives, and the special place that horses
have in American History and American Hearts.
Stunning shots of Bo Derek with her horses and
stirring music form the backdrop for the informative script. Filmed in
California, Texas, Kentucky, and Washington DC the film captures the hopes of
Americans everywhere that horse slaughter for human consumption will soon be
illegal in the United States. The film underscores the importance of speedy
passage of the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 857 and S. 2352).
