Subject: Re: Horse Slaughter Plant (Crown) In Kaufman, TX

Dear Lesley,

I am writing in regard to the horse slaughtering plant, Crown Packing, in Kaufman, TX. Please convey to Congressman Hall that I am against this not only in my city but in any others for that matter. Being a horse lover and growing up riding them, I cannot bear to look when I travel the route by the plant. I know that,  on occasion, I have noticed young, healthy looking horses being hauled in. It's an incredible amount that they report being slaughtered per week according to the newspaper.

I had the occasion to see and visit briefly with Congressman Hall this past Sunday at a school dedication here in Kaufman. He and my dad, Edward Nash (now deceased), were very good friends. It was good to get the chance to see him and Mary Ellen again. How lucky we are to have the caliber of such a man to represent us in Washington! Please give my regards to him once again.

Thank you,
Elaine Nash Howard
