Subject: [againstslaughter] Phone conversations with Rep. Hinojosaīs aide and Alderman Knowlton
Hi,

This evening, as part of my routine, I made some phone calls:

I phoned Representative Hinojosa (D-TX). The conversation with the aide who
attended my call was usual until we reached the point regarding my address:
He asked where I was calling from and I said that I was calling from Spain,
from Madrid. In that moment, he becomes overjoyed to find that somebody was
calling from Madrid and started to speak in Spanish. He told me that he
served in the joint military Air Base of Torrejón de Ardoz, at about 10-15
miles from Fuenlabrada, where I live.

He took my name and said that he will speak to Congressman Hinojosa and tell
him to cosponsor HR 857. This sounds very promising, doesnīt it?

Later I phoned Alderman Knowlton, from DeKalbīs City Council but I had very
bad luck here: This time Mr. Knowlton cached the phone instead of the usual
answering machine. When I told him that I was calling regarding Cavel, he
cut the conversation and said that he didnīt want more calls about Cavel and
that he had enough calls. Although we was polite he refused at all to speak
with me. They, the City Council and the Planning Board, say that they "do
not receive many messages opposing Cavelīs rebuilding"; but in reality they
do not give us an opportunity to speak.
