=================SAMPLE LETTER FOR THE GOVERNOR================
Attn: Governor Rod Blagojevich
Office of the Governor
207 State House
Springfield, IL 62706
Dear Governor Blagojevich:
I am writing to you in order to request you order the Illinois Department of
Agriculture to rescind the operating license to Cavel International, a Belgian
owned company which ILLEGALY obtained a license from it by falsifying
information on its license application in order to rebuild a horse
slaughterhouse in DeKalb, Illinois.
The license application that Cavel International used to obtain a license to run
a horse slaughterhouse in DeKalb was WRONGLY granted by the Illinois Department
of Agriculture and PRESENTS SEVERAL VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW and ERRORS:
1. The facilities that this Belgian owned company is attempting to rebuild
burned to the ground in March of 2002. Cavel International applied for the
operating license for a horse slaughterhouse in 4/14/2003, when NO FACILITY
EXISTED. LAW STATES THAT ANY FACILITY
MUST BE ALREADY BUILT BEFORE APPLING OR GRANTING ANY LICENSE.
2. The Illinois Department of Agriculture granted the license on 4/22/2003,
WITHOUT INSPECTING THE FACILITY AS IT IS REQUIRED BY LAW.
3. Cavel International FALSIFIED INFORMATION on the application, by LYING ABOUT
THE STATE OF ITS FACILITY.
4. The Illinois Department of Agriculture HAS ADMITTED THEIR ERROR and HAS
STATED that it would look into revoking the license; but although it HAS HAD
SEVERAL WEEKS TO CORRECT THIS ERROR IT HAS FAILED TO DO SO.
Because of these facts I request from you to order the Illinois Department of
Agriculture to RESCIND THIS ILLEGAL LICENSE TO Cavel International. In addition,
I urge you to LOOK INTO THE WRONGDOING ON THE PART THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE.
I look forward from receiving a reply from you regarding your actions and
position on this issue, which is of extreme importance to me. Thank you for your
time and consideration of my letter.
