Subject: [againstslaughter] "THE SLAUGHTERHOUSES WILL NOT BUY SKINNY HORSES!"

Thank goodness someone is saying this besides me.  How many times have I complained that I am sick to death of all the websites that drone on about abused horses and slaughter plants?

It seems like no matter how many times I try to tell people, "the slaughterers do not want to waste their resources on a horse weighing under 1,100 pounds..." I still keep hearing the words "rescue" and "slaughter" in the same breath.  I've just about reached the point of deciding that unless people see the slaughter horses for themselves on a continuing basis, there is no way to convince them that  THERE IS NO CONNECTION AMONG RESCUE/ABUSE, AND SLAUGHTER.

But this is exactly the garbage the foreign slaughterers WANT you to believe, so they can justify what they do.

For those of you who have seen Tiff Bartlett's video...yes, that was I, sitting in my solarium, who said, "People lie...and for so many years they've been lying about this horse slaughter plant.  They've been saying, 'Oh, all the horses over there are old and sick and crippled.'  Well that's not right!  They're just sayin' that so that nobody will question what they do."

Here is the Dallas Crown "price list for walk-ins"  http://www.kaufmanzoning.net/horsemeat/DCPriceList.htm

Note that if a horse weighs under 1,100 pounds, the price declines.  Note that, "Too small or too skinny can be disposed of for a $50.00 fee."

This is what the horses looked like at Dallas Crown on Sunday, Sep 1, 2002.

Thank you, Amy, for writing,

"All those skinny neglected horses will NEVER end up at a slaughterhouse unless their owner HAULS them there and PAYS the plant to take them.

"The ENTIRE anti-abuse argument therefore, becomes invalid.

After my visit to Beltex one thing becomes very clear: THE SLAUGHTERHOUSES WILL NOT BUY SKINNY HORSES.
Every time someone, whether it be a rescue organization or no, comes at me with this argument, I will repeat this like a mantra until it is
DRILLED into their heads.

All those skinny neglected horses will NEVER end up at a slaughterhouse unless their owner HAULS them there and PAYS the plant
to take them.

The ENTIRE anti-abuse argument therefore, becomes invalid.
