Subject: AQHA Position on Live Horse Slaughter for Human Consumption

Mr. Case - Below is a message I sent to you on Monday, May 5, 2003 asking you for the date the AQHA's position was adopted by your board on American live horse slaughter for human consumption in Europe and Asia.  Here is the position statement I was asking about.  http://kaufmanzoning.net/horsemeat/AQHAPosition.htm

I also asked for the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of your board members.

I never received a reply from you to my May 5, 2003 request.

Now I have received email correspondence, originated from you, which transmits two additional position papers for the AQHA.  One is titled "Considerations Regarding The Processing of Horses for Human Consumption" and the other has no title but appears to be summaries of various AQHA positions regarding treatment of horses.  Here is the former  http://kaufmanzoning.net/horsemeat/AQHAonHorsemeat.htm  and here is the latter  http://kaufmanzoning.net/horsemeat/AQHAonHorses.htm

Since I post documents on my website in chronological order, I very much would like to know the dates these three position papers were issued.  Knowing the name of the person who wrote them would also be helpful.  In addition to knowing when and by whom they were written, I would very much appreciate knowing the formal process the AQHA follows in issuing and approving position statements like these.  Does the AQHA have policy guidelines or bylaws that regulate the procedure for approving and issuing position statements?  Is there a policy statement available which documents the accepted procedure for approval and issuance of position statements by the AQHA.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Mr. Case - I have been sent a copy of the AQHA position statement on live horse slaughter for human consumption, and I have posted it on my website.

Would you please tell me the date the position was adopted by your board so I might add the date to the chronology in my website?

Also, would you please be so kind as to give me the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of your board members?

The 40 acre farm next to the Dallas Crown live horse slaughter plant in Kaufman, Texas has been in my family for 150 years.
