Subject: Report of stolen horses recovered at Beltex and Dallas Crown over last3 years

Mr. McCartney - I have found your wonderful website at http://www.texascattleraisers.org/

Can you give me statistics on how many stolen horses have been recovered at Beltex in Fort Worth and Dallas Crown in Kaufman over the last 3 years? These are the two Texas horse slaughter plants that would be regulated by the Horse Identification Program (HIP) developed by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

I have documents from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department confirming 11 reported incidents of stolen horses over the last two years in Kaufman County.

Thank you very much for any information you can provide me about the results from the Horse Identification Program. Also, can you tell me how long the program has been in effect? It sounds like a great program!
