Thank you for contacting me about animal welfare issues.

 

Like most Americans, I support the humane treatment of all animals, whether in research facilities or in homes.  I believe we all share a responsibility for the careful stewardship of animals in our charge.  It is also vital that declining animal populations be protected.

 

As you now, each year a number of animal welfare proposals are referred to the House Committee on Agriculture.  Rest assured I will keep your concerns in mind should legislation regarding the humane treatment of animals come before the full House.
