Subject: Re: [againstslaughter] Posting again for info - Question?

Regina,
I haven't been to auctions in Texas, however I frequently attend auctions here in Oklahoma and I would imagine the prices would be similar.  The killer buyers at these auctions will only bid up to about .35 cents per pound, no more.  The average is around .28 to .32 per pound for a healthy, stocky horse.  They very, very seldom bid on a horse much less than 1000 pounds, and then only if it is an exceptionally good buy (15 to 18 cents per pound).

Let me know if I can help with any additional info.

Tamie

I posted this earlier and had no response! Can anyone help with this info? Need as much info as possible to help save horses at auction.

Anyone in Texas who attends auctions on a regular basis have a rule of thumb for the current price killer buyers are paying per lb.

I was asked this question by others attending auctions and wanting to out-bid the killer buyers.

I haven't been to an auction in over a year so I am clueless.

Thanks, Regina
