is a reply from Illinois Senator
Pamela J. Althoff to my letter urging her to support H.B. 1921 which
would prevent horse slaughter for human consumption in Illinois. She
had previously emailed me stating that the Cavel Corporation had withdrawn
their license to construct a horse slaughter plant and the attached letter
is an update clarifying that point. As you will note from a reading of
the letter, Cavel's return of their first license was merely a ploy and they
will be indeed reopening the plant if HB 1921 fails.
