Subject: [againstslaughter] Illinois Horse Slaughter
issue hits the BIG time!!!
Hi Everyone,
Well, much has been happening the last several days.
Due to the dedication and generous contributions of Arlington Park Racetrack, we
now have a professional PR firm at our disposal.
On Monday, I received word that the "cavalry" had now joined the
battle. Obviously, to say the very least we are all overjoyed and
extremely grateful for the support that the Illinois racing industry is
providing in the effort to ban horse slaughter in Illinois.
We have much good news to report. Yesterday a professional press release
went out to all media in Illinois. I will forward this separately.
Today I have already done 2 newspaper interviews, one of which was nearly 2
hours long.
We have slaughter plant video's going out to all major Illinois TV stations
along with press releases.
We are in the process of lining up a telephone based polling of Illinois voters.
We received interest from TVG about the possibility of doing a story on the
"Blinkers Off" segment of the show. If we get this confirmed,
the NHPC will try to get Nick Zito to do the interview.
I have saved the best for last.
Tomorrow morning WGN Radio 720 will be doing an on air interview with State Rep.
Bob Molaro. The interview is scheduled for 7:15 am central time.
Just in time for RUSH HOUR!!!!!!!!!
This is HUGE!!! WGN reaches a HUGE national audience and also, reaches
several European Countries. Better than that, WGN is available for your
listening pleasure online!!!
You can listen to the interview at:
Following the broadcast at 7:15 tomorrow, we need everyone to call or email WGN
to show our support for Molaro's effort. We also, need people to begin
calling, faxing and emailing the legislators, like we never have before!!!
This is our BIGGEST opportunity, to really show the IL legislators how many we
are, and how strongly we demand their support of SB 1921!!!
You can contact WGN radio personality Spike O'Dell, who will be doing the
interview at:
The call in numbers are: "Call in line" 312-591-7200 or
"Switchboard" 312-222-4700
I suggest that you please do both. Call in if you can and also, leave WGN
an email
The Illinois legislators, will be in their district offices tomorrow and Monday
March 1st.
So all correspondence should be directed there the next few days.
Beginning Tuesday, they will be in the Springfield offices March 2-6.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for all you are doing!!
Please, CROSS POST THIS EMAIL TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!
