Food for Thought.

In the US, horses are NOT food.

In the US, horses will NEVER be food.

As a professional horseman, I can tell you, that we in our industry are not unaware of the Europeans desire to have the US better regulate our horses as to their food safety standards.

We are well aware of how the UK has recently bowed to pressure from the EU and introduced its new horse "passports" system.

We American horseman will NOT bow to pressure or the desires of the EU, US or any other governments to regulate OUR US horses as food.

If the Europeans want to eat horse, let them eat their own.

American sport horse owners will never agree to allow the government to regulate medications and health care products we currently enjoy in the quest to maintain the health and well being of our SPORT horses.

We will never agree to be subject to restrictions and prohibitions placed on the use of many of these products in "food producing" species.

How dare the US government turn their backs on our own history and culture to appease the palates of foreign diners?

We Americans have always voluntarily not consumed our horses.

This is our way, it always will be.
