Subject: [againstslaughter] Message from Molaro office
Hi, all
Just spoke to Molaro office. They have new "orders" they would
like us to follow.
#1 We need to keep a record of the State Reps', State Senators', and House
Executive Committee members' responses to our faxes, calls, emails etc. We
need to call and fax these legislators, state our case and ask if they will or
will not be supporting SB 1921. (please remember that the bill should only
be referenced as SB 1921)
#2 We need to somehow, try to organize a list of supporters and non supporters.
Perhaps, we could all email, to me, or maybe Daniel (since he is so
organized) the official responses, whether verbal or written so that we can keep
a running tally of "ayes and nays" for
Molaro's office so they can know who they personally need to approach.
#3 We must "lobby" all reps and senators. If we pass the
executive committee on Nov. 18 it will go to the House for a vote.
If the bill then passes the House, it will go to the Senate for a vote also.
#4 Most legislators will be in their district offices this coming week. So
correspondence should be directed to these offices from today through Nov.14.
Nov. 14 -18 All correspondence should be directed to the Springfield
offices.
#5 Illinois residents urgently need to contact their local and district Farm
Bureau offices. Tell them you would like them to support SB 1921 or at the
very least be "neutral" about its position. Remember to make it
perfectly clear to these people that we are
interested in HORSES ONLY!! That this is a horse industry matter, and that
we have no designs on trying to outlaw any animals that are RAISED FOR FOOD in
our country. Remind them that Equines are not raised as food in our
country.
