Subject: [againstslaughter] Fundraiser for SB 1921

Hi all,
Well, we have just finalized plans for a fundraiser to benefit the legislation that will ban horse slaughter in Illinois (SB 1921).  We are holding the event at "After the Races" a favorite race track establishment located just outside the gates of Hawthorne National
Racecourse on Laramie Ave. in Stickney / Cicero IL.

The fundraiser will be on Saturday December 20, 2003.  A $ 10.00 cover charge will be assessed at the door.  After the Races, will be providing FREE FOOD AND BEER!!  There will be several raffles and a silent auction.  Tickets for the Grand Prize, a 3 day 2 night stay in Las Vegas including roundtrip airfare are $10 each.  I will post more info, on the prizes and silent auction items as it comes available.

We need to raise lots of $$$$ to cover the necessary costs of ensuring passage of SB 1921.
We plan to use the money raised to hire lobbyists, lawyers, and to conduct an official poll of Illinois voters as to their position on horse slaughter.

As you all know, the results of all polls taken thus far have shown that Americans overwhelmingly support a ban on horse slaughter.  We feel this will immeasurably strengthen the support in the Illinois legislature for SB 1921.

Tickets for the Vegas raffle can be purchased from:
