"We have a mandate and an obligation to protect the public especiallyin cases where something being done on one property could be damagingthe value of other properties," said Terry Capehart, Kaufman directorof development services. "In this case, Dallas Crown was determinedto be a nusiance, and the board did what it felt was in the bestinterest of the Kaufman residents." According to Capehart, plant owners have 10 days to file an appeal.Capehart does expect Dallas Crown to challenge the order in court,but is confident the city board members made the right decision.
